When I left school, I had a simple mantra for myself:

Find a profession that you love, or die trying.

Fortunately, I found design, and I'm still alive.

Design values and principles

I believe design has a unique ability to humanise, harmonise and galvanise. So my approach to technology projects is to combine human-centred methods with a strategy connecting design work to commercial outcomes, in the context of an inspiring vision of the future.

001

Seek balance

Between user needs and business objectives, between speed and quality, between personal growth and collective outcomes.

002

Measure what you can

Not everything that matters can be measured. Combine empirical methods with intuition to chart the best possible course.

003

Everything is connected

Nothing exists in isolation. Zoom in to craft the interaction, then zoom out to consider connections to organisation, brand, social/economic impact.

004

Inspire, guide, empower

Set people up for success, give them the tools and support they need, trust them to figure out the details for themselves.

Extra-curricular

These are a few of my favourite things...

Travelling with the fam
Being a tough guy
Greening the greenhouse
Biennale di Venezia
Antiquarian books
Bandes desinées
Analogue watches
Korean food
Ancient history and philosophy
Old and sentimental movies
